If there ever were an easy to care for house plant, the Sansevieria would have to be one of the front runners. This little beauty grows just about anywhere, as it can tolerate low light levels (perfect for apartment dwellers), can survive drought and has few insect problems. Its sword-like foliage always looks striking, and green and its architectural shape will make an impact in any space.

According to the NASA Clean Air Study, the Sansevieria has excellent air-purifying qualities, removing four of the five commonly found toxins found in our spaces. It’s even great in your bedroom as it converts CO2 (carbon dioxide) to O2 (oxygen) at night.

West Africa | Tropical Savannah

Position:

Low to moderate light requirements. Are happy with a few hours of direct light.

Water:

A potted snake plant will only require water once every two weeks (or once a month during winter) as over-watering can cause them to die.

Soil:

Well-drained, light mix. Let the soil drain between watering.
